Logicalis US Acquires MCPc’s Advanced Technology Integration Group

This morning, Logicalis announced its acquisition of MCPc’s Advanced Technology Integration Group (ATIG), a business unit based in Cleveland, Ohio, that focuses on IT and professional services including data center, unified communications, cloud, and infrastructure integration throughout the Midwest and in select East and West coast markets.  The acquisition builds upon Logicalis’ existing strong Midwestern presence by expanding its IT consulting and professional services competencies and augmenting its expertise in healthcare and SLED vertical solutions.  Logicalis has annualized global revenues of over $1.5 billion and employs over 4,000 employees worldwide.  Logicalis is a member of Logicalis Group, a division of Datatec Limited, a $6 billion business listed on the London Stock Exchange (LSE) and Johannesburg Stock Exchange (LSE/JSE: DTC). Why did Logicalis choose to acquire a division of MCPc?

Ranked No. 72 on CRN’s Solution Provider 500, one of Crain’s Cleveland’s Business Fast 50 and an NEO Success Winner, MCPc is a highly respected Midwest IT solution provider.  Founded in 2002, MCPc formed the ATIG division in 2014 which represents approximately 100 employees across seven states.  MCPc’s ATIG division is known for industry-leading IT services delivery, focused around data center solutions, unified communications, cloud and infrastructure integration services that help clients take a proactive approach to IT.  The acquired division brings over 100 sales, technical and services delivery professionals to Logicalis’ already strong international technical team.

MCPc’s ATIG division has a strong presence in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Illinois, Georgia, New York and Oregon, all of which are well aligned with existing Logicalis presence and will significantly accelerate Logicalis’ continuing growth in those markets. The ATIG team will also augment Logicalis’ existing strength in serving the healthcare and SLED markets. The companies also have very strong cultural alignment particularly around the commitment to customers and employees.

Why did MCPc decide to sell its ATIG division to Logicalis?

Logicalis, ranked No. 27 on CRN’s Solution Provider 500 and No. 2 on the MSPmentor 501, provides MCPc with the opportunity to focus on its core competencies in retained end user services and solutions while also providing a partnership that will allow clients of both companies to gain access to a broader set of offerings. For the ATIG employees and clients, Logicalis will extend the company’s existing expertise and capabilities across a broader international geographic area and across an enhanced portfolio of products and services. Logicalis’ international presence, financial strength, longevity and technical expertise are key ingredients of MCPc’s decision to sell its ATIG division to Logicalis.  Logicalis’ customer-focused approach, commitment to its employees and remarkably similar corporate culture were significant factors in the MCPc team’s decision.  The acquisition of MCPc’s ATIG will provide immediate benefit to Logicalis through shared best practices and additional service delivery disciplines.

How will this acquisition impact MCPc’s ATIG customers?

The primary goal for both companies in the transition is to make it completely seamless for both MCPc and Logicalis customers.  The sales and technical professionals customers have come to depend upon and trust at MCPc will continue to provide these services without interruption.

As a Logicalis company, MCPc’s ATIG division will provide customers with a broader range of products and services across a wider geography than formerly possible. Yes, Logicalis will continue to make acquisitions that improve its ability to provide industry-leading IT solutions to its customers.

Will there be any associated layoffs?

As in any situation where two companies come together, there may be redundancies of roles, although neither company anticipates any significant workforce impact associated with the acquisition.

What are the terms of the acquisition? How much did Logicalis pay?

The companies are not releasing details related to the terms of the agreement. Details of the transaction have been separately reported.

What is happening to the top management at both companies?

Vince DeLuca, Logicalis’ U.S. President & CEO, will continue to lead the combined organization.  Other existing Logicalis executives will remain in place. MCPc’s ATIG executives will join the combined organization.
