The customer wanted to perform a global SAP rollout, collapsing nearly 1,200 individual legacy systems into one SAP platform. The customer knew it would encounter multiple challenges around duplicate and inaccurate data. The customer also the success of its SAP rollout would be based on the quality of the user experience and the quality of the data SAP was running on.
Solution:
Logicalis designed and implemented a series of data migrations that supported an assembly-line approach, from legacy system to SAP. The SAP data models were defined and modeled using Logicalis' proprietary technology, with each individual legacy data source scheduled for migration. At the kickoff of every migration, Logicalis systematically analyzed, standardized, cleansed, deduplicated and rationalized each of the master data sources. Logicalis analysts worked with customer business experts to model and express more than 1,000 business rules. Logicalis also employed offshore data stewards to manage and enrich the data to meet the customer’s meticulous standards. The result was a major improvement in overall data quality, comprehensive data lineage and history reporting, and complete rollback capabilities. In the all-important area of customer data quality, Logicalis maintained a 99.99 percent accuracy rate for the duration of the project, measured with each go-live instance. Today the client uses Logicalis for the ongoing management of that migrated data, and bases its own internal data governance programs on work performed by Logicalis to define business rules for data management.
