Designation Demonstrates the Logicalis Enterprise Cloud’s
Ties to VMware Virtualization & Cloud Computing
Technology
Farmington Hills, MI, January 4,
2012 – Logicalis, an international provider of integrated
information and communications technology (ICT) solutions and
services (http://www.us.logicalis.com/),
today announced that its Logicalis Enterprise Cloud (LEC) public
cloud service has achieved VMware
vCloud® Powered status, illustrating to customers
that the company’s cloud services are underpinned by VMware’s
leading virtualization and cloud computing technology, namely
VMware vSphere® and VMware vCloud Director. A
member of the VMware Service Provider Program (VSPP), the Logicalis
Enterprise Cloud integrates the VMware vCloud technology to extend
the inherent security and workload isolation that enables Logicalis
to provide highly scalable cloud services to its clients.
“Logicalis is pleased to have received this
important designation. Being recognized with the VMware
vCloud Powered status gives users of the Logicalis Enterprise Cloud
yet another way to know that they have chosen a cloud partner that
has a proven track record in the marketplace,” says Mike Martin,
Logicalis’ vice president of Cloud Solutions. “At Logicalis,
we recognize that cloud computing needs to provide an open
framework that extends to our clients’ IT solution needs, and with
the VMware vCloud standards combined with our strong ITIL managed
services, we are able to provide a scalable managed cloud
solution.”
“The VMware vCloud® Powered program
was developed to enable our service provider partners to
differentiate themselves and help them bring their enterprise-class
cloud services to market in this competitive landscape,“ said Don
Schleicher, vice president of service providers for VMware. “We
look forward to supporting Logicalis further as it delivers on the
agility and performance customers are looking for in the cloud
computing landscape.”
Customers of Logicalis have the ability to
move workloads from their VMware vSphere-based virtualized or
private cloud environment to the VMware vCloud Powered service and
back again. This application portability is a key differentiator
allowing customers to achieve the flexibility and security they
need while enabling increased IT agility.
Logicalis sought VMware vCloud®
Powered validation to confirm the level of service being offered
through the Logicalis Enterprise Cloud. As a validated
provider, Logicalis can now provide users with enhanced
responsiveness and agility as well as reduced IT costs through
increased consolidation, task automation and simplified
management.
