The Logicalis Enterprise Cloud Platform

Logicalis is a cloud solution provider, a solution integrator, and a managed services provider for our clients and together, those three variables allow us to deliver integrated solutions and innovative solutions for our clients.

We have years and years of experience, more than a decade of experience in managed services, built out of our Cincinnati, Ohio data centre. That, coupled with our strong Cisco technology, skills, and experience, really provides value for our customers.

The Logicalis Enterprise Cloud Platform is something that we built based on Cisco technology, though there were some other vendors and partnerships that were a part of that but we really saw Cisco technologies as a core component for allowing us to build a multi-tenant hosted cloud solution for our client.

Our cloud offering is really designed for any company of any size in any industry. We also have a number of customers that are independent software vendors.

Our customers spoke and we listened

Our customers had begun asking us to provide compute resources in a different manner than what they have traditionally purchased in the past.

Our cloud strategy developed from our clients asking us for different ways to consume solutions from us, and one of our key clients was an ISV who was out there selling their software to different clients, patching it together, and what they started seeing was demand that their clients were asking for as a service or a hosted solution where they didn’t want to bring the application on-premise.

Out of that, we really made a key investment and we said, “You know what? We can build a multi-tenancy shared infrastructure, lever the benefits of a highly-virtualised infrastructure, enterprise-class infrastructure, to provide and host their applications that they turn around and sell to their clients.

We built our cloud to be highly-scalable and to leverage virtualisation, providing elasticity and scalability. How we package it up is with really a compute container. It’s a flexible, virtual compute resource that our clients leverage.

So, based on a monthly cost structure, they’re able to right-size their computer environment, so it is a pay-as-you-go type of model, and it’s a line to really give you the elasticity and flexibility to align the compute resources and the virtual systems that you need to support your applications.
Our services include 24x7 monitoring, management, patching, andback-ups of each one of your individual servers just like it would be in your own data centre. Those are the things that you expect when you’re taking your enterprise applications and move them to a trusted cloud provider. You expect those things to happen and we’ve built that as part of our foundation.

And while the infrastructure is great and understanding a very scalable infrastructure is key to us, the main differentiators are our ability to manage enterprise applications, and provide 24x7 support for them.

It gives our clients kind of line-of-sight to basically consume the amount of compute resources they need, based on their application portfolio, that they need to support their own internal business needs or to re-sell to their clients.

They love it – most clients think it’s a very innovating solution in alliance to their business needs and alliance to their operational costs and provides them the elasticity and flexibility to change and to make the investments where they need to, and to not really have to worry about the day-to-day operations of patching window servers and making sure antivirus is up and running. That’s a service that we get. It’s our core business. It’s what we’re good at, it’s what we do.

Most organisations, they don’t want to waste time on day-to-day non-core IT activities. They want to focus on the core business and that’s what we enable them to do with the cloud strategy.

The solution has been a phenomenal success for Logicalis and our customers and as we look into the future, we see new opportunities, such as disaster recovery as a service, UC (unified communications) as a service, storage as a service, and many other options.
