PROJECT SCOPE
Planning - Our specialists will assist your staff
with a plan to identify the Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM)
requirements in your configuration and meet the specifications that
you will define. This will also include the planning for TSM
server, tape configuration, network capacity and TSM client
identification. We will deliver a planning installation record at
the end of this phase. This phase includes the review of:
- Hardware configuration
- Software configuration for inconsistencies with OEM
partners
- Installation plans and processes required to make the system
operational
- Any operational standards that will be required
- Backup schedules and requirements
- Recovery procedures by file, subsystem or integration with
system images
Integration - TSM specialists will implement
the requirements that are needed to provide the correct
configurations, including:
- Installing TSM software on the TSM server machine
- Configuring initial TSM settings
- Installing TSM client software on two TSM client machines
- Configuring initial TSM Server Storage Pools
- Configuring TSM system configuration settings to provide
communication between the server and client
- Backing up a maximum of two nodes with incremental backup
- Backing up a database up to 100 GB with correct connect
agent
- Creating base-recommended TSM automation and reporting scripts
from 100+ TSM scripts developed by Logicalis
- Defining administration schedules
