Logicalis can help you revolutionize
your data center with the Unified Computing System from
Cisco
Logicalis knows Cisco’s Unified Computing
System (UCS) as a customer as well as a partner. We built our own
Enterprise Cloud Platform on UCS technology and earned Cisco’s
Solution Innovation Partner of the Year for our creative use of UCS
technology.
We are also among an elite group of partners
who have qualified for the Cisco Data Center Unified Computing
Advanced Technology Program specialization, as well as the Cisco
Data Center Advanced Architecture specialization.
Key Benefits of Unified Computing
- Reduces total cost of ownership: Up
to 20 percent reduction in capital expenditures (CAPEX) and up to
30 percent reduction in operational expenditures (OPEX).
- Improves IT productivity and improves
business agility: Provision applications in minutes instead of
days. Shifts the focus from IT maintenance to IT innovation
- Increases scalability without added
complexity: Managed as a single system, whether it has one or
320 servers with thousands of virtual machines.
- Improves energy efficiency:
Significantly reduces power and cooling costs
- Designed for your future: Provides
interoperability and investment protection through industry
standards-based infrastructure.
Key Features of Unified Computing
The Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS) is a
next-generation data center platform that unites compute, network,
storage access, and virtualization into a cohesive system designed
to reduce total cost of ownership and increase business agility.
The main system components include:
- Compute: UCS is based on an
entirely new class of computing system that incorporates blade
servers based on Intel Xeon 5500 Series processors and supports
applications with large data sets and allow more virtual machines
per server.
- Network: UCS is integrated
onto a low-latency, lossless, 10-Gbps unified network fabric. This
network foundation consolidates what today are three separate
networks: LANs, SANs, and high-performance computing networks.
- Virtualization: UCS
unleashes the full potential of virtualization by enhancing the
scalability, performance, and operational control of virtual
environments.
- Storage access: UCS provides
consolidated access to both SAN storage and network attached
storage (NAS) over the unified fabric. Unifying storage access
means that the Cisco Unified Computing System can access storage
over Ethernet, Fibre Channel, Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE),
and iSCSI, providing customers with choice and investment
protection.
- Management: UCS uniquely
integrates all the system components, enabling the entire solution
to be managed as a single entity through Cisco UCS Manager
software. Cisco UCS Manager helps increase IT staff productivity,
enabling storage, network, and server administrators to collaborate
on defining service profiles for applications.
Cisco Advanced Data Center Labs
You can also experience leading-edge Cisco
data center technology for yourself at on or our three Cisco
Advanced Data Center labs. Our labs provide a hands on environment
that showcases UCS, Nexus and multi-layer director switch (MDS)
technology.
Contact us today to schedule a test drive of
the data center that could be in your future. Our Cisco Advanced
Data Center labs are located in Shelton, CT, Cincinnati, Ohio and
Chicago, IL.
If you can’t make it to one of our labs, we
can give you a personal guided tour over WebEx.
Let us show you what Cisco technology can do
for you.
