The Facts

Three service models exist for delivering a wide range of computing capabilities, from basic infrastructure and computing power to specific applications. In addition, there are three common models for cloud computing deployment that enable you to provide your organization with data, applications and even hardware “in the cloud” and made available – on demand, scalable and securely – to your organization no matter where they need the resources.

Logicalis can help you determine the best cloud computing services, deployment models and strategy for utilizing cloud computing in your organization and then develop and execute a plan to meet your goals. Our approach involves the Logicalis Enterprise Cloud platform, backed by our award-winning Logicalis Virtual Data Center.

Cloud Computing Service Models
Platform as a Service (Paas) — Logicalis enables you to deploy applications onto the cloud infrastructure without requiring your organization to manage or control the underlying cloud infrastructure – including network, servers, operating systems, or storage.

Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) — The Logicalis Enterprise Cloud provides hosted, managed Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) for network, computer and storage services. Built on a reliable and scalable infrastructure, Logicalis not only provides the compute resources required to support enterprise-class applications, but the day-to-day monitoring and management of the virtual server, including operating system patching, daily backups and a dedicated service-level manager.

Software as a Service (SaaS) — Logicalis provides secure, reliable, private cloud hosting for enterprise applications, e-commerce systems and Independent Software Vendors (ISVs). We host applications and services in our Tier 3 data center, providing high bandwidth Internet services with interconnects to major Internet exchanges and other networks. Logicalis hosts a variety of solutions offered through the SaaS model for a predictable monthly fee.

Cloud Computing Deployment Models
Private cloud — Private clouds are highly virtualized, on-site data centers built specifically for your organization’s needs by utilizing current infrastructure. Logicalis develops private cloud architectures by leveraging a virtualization foundation provided by top tier technology vendors. This allows you to cost effectively adopt cloud principles into your current operations with low risk.

Public cloud — Public clouds are ready-made compute, storage and networking solutions delivered as a contractual service, based on a service level agreement. The Logicalis Enterprise Cloud is a multi-tiered public cloud infrastructure built on a set of predefined services with flexible support levels designed to meet your exact needs.

Hybrid cloud — Hybrid cloud solutions provide the best of both worlds, linking private and public cloud options together. Logicalis can help you integrate your private cloud with the Logicalis Enterprise Cloud to create a single infrastructure ‘resource pool’ for application services and data.
