Walt Braeger

Vice President, Consulting Services

Walt Braeger joined Logicalis in 2016 as Vice President of Consulting Services. He brings more than 30 years of experience in a wide range of line and staff roles at IBM to Logicalis. In this position, Walt is responsible for helping to drive business transformation as organizations move to adopt third platform consumption models for their IT/business environments. The Logicalis Consulting Services Practice will be run as a P&L, but it will also draw on a wide range of capabilities within Logicalis to assist customers with broad-based business transformation. Walt will work directly with clients—as well as Logicalis sales teams—to move the conversation from IT products to customer-centric services and applications that can be tracked directly to business outcomes.

Walt says taking a client-centered perspective is in his DNA. His experience as a CIO taught him the importance of listening and aligning to the business to generate value. Walt also considers himself “radically collaborative.” All of us are smarter than one of us, he maintains, and relishes bringing together people with varied skillsets to solve complex problems.

Before joining Logicalis, Walt was Vice President of IBM US Industrial Sector across the high-tech, automotive, petroleum, aerospace and industrial products industries. He was a member of the North American senior leadership team overseeing performance, client satisfaction, talent and transformation imperatives for IBM’s largest operating geography. He played a significant role in helping launch IBM’s cloud computing business globally. Walt has been consistently recognized by clients and teammates for having competencies in client partnering, innovation, and utilizing collaborative influence to achieve superior results.

Before IBM, Walt was CIO at Carlson Companies in Minneapolis where he served on the global IT steering committee and helped Carlson launch one of the first Internet-based, unified brand loyalty programs.

Walt’s undergraduate degree is in marketing from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and he holds an MBA from Kansas University.  He is a huge Kansas Jayhawk basketball fan and a Minnesota Golden Gopher Men’s Hockey season ticket holder. Walt and his wife live in Minneapolis. Their two children have now left the nest.
