Logicalis US Honors Director of Brand Operations Bob Butcher with Memorial Golf Outing

Solution Provider Donates Proceeds from Charitable Event to Annual Scholarship Fund

NEW YORK, August 30, 2016 – Most large organizations have a philanthropic side to them, donating money to a good cause when the opportunity presents itself.  But few have the opportunity to create a legacy for one of their own, an honor Logicalis US, an international IT solutions and managed services provider (www.us.logicalis.com), has bestowed on the life and work of Bob Butcher, a longtime Logicalis employee, by dedicating its annual Chicago-area customer golf outing to his memory and creating a scholarship for his high school alma mater.

Butcher worked at Logicalis for over 13 years as the Director of Brand Operations out of the company’s Chicago office.  When he died unexpectedly in 2015, the company, along with Butcher’s family and friends, wanted to create a legacy to honor him and his devotion to his community.

“Bob was so much more than a colleague,” recalls Jeff Wilms, Regional Vice President of Sales, Midwest, for Logicalis US. “Of course he did an excellent job working with our emerging partners, but he was also one of those people who just had a passion for life and a caring community-minded spirit, something we felt deserved to be honored in a way that would have been meaningful to him.”

Though he went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Marketing and Related Support Services from Lewis University, Butcher’s heart belonged to St. Rita of Cascia High School in Chicago; attending St. Rita was an experience Butcher felt had truly shaped and defined who he had become. As an active alumnus of the school, he was devoted to its success, and his friends and family could think of nothing more fitting than donating the charitable proceeds from Logicalis’ annual customer golf outing to the school to help another bright and deserving student attend just as he had done.

For the past two years, Logicalis has dubbed the event the “Bob Butcher Memorial Golf Outing.”  Logicalis’ vendor partners donated prizes ranging from golf bags and clubs to a YETI cooler, a Tori Burch purse, a Tiffany bracelet, Michael Kors sunglasses and a Weber grill. In all, the event, which took place earlier this month, raised $5,000 for St. Rita this year.

And today, there is another Robert Butcher working at Logicalis: Butcher’s son, Robbie, is now a Sales Development Associate in the same Chicago office that loved his father so much.
